Small Group Maths Grinds

MathsDoctor’s small group classes online are very popular and students from all over Ireland and Dublin have availed of them. So can you.

"I can highly recommend Maths Doctor as he is largely the reason I got a H4 in my Leaving Cert maths. He took all the time necessary to explain concepts to me and walk me through everything I needed to understand whilst also making me aware of the marking system and how I could maximise my result in every question. I did my Leaving Cert in 2021 and feel proud of the result I achieved in maths which I doubt I would’ve come anywhere near were it not for Maths Doctor’s superb grinds."

Small Group Maths Grinds

Whether you’re struggling with algebra, calculus, trigonometry, or any other area, MathsDoctor has you covered. With years of experience and a passion for teaching, I provide both group maths grinds in all these maths topics and more.

As mathematics is a subject that is all about understanding, I encourage students to ask questions, and I provide clear explanations, practical examples, and detailed step-by-step solutions to help you understand and apply mathematical concepts effectively. And all students in the group benefit from these questions that are asked.

By nurturing a positive attitude towards maths and boosting students’ self-confidence, I help them achieve better grades and a greater appreciation for the subject.

Online Classes

Small Groups Online

The group classes work in a very similar way to the 1-to1 lessons from a technical perspective. Each student needs to have Skype installed and the link to the virtual classroom is sent to each person. No details of others in the classroom are sent to anyone to protect everyone’s privacy and again, you don’t need a camera! Everyone can hear and see what the teacher is writing on the whiteboard. Do check out the short video above to see what it’s like.

Success Stories from our Past Students

Hearing success stories from previous clients always warms my heart. Here are just some of the many success stories previous clients have happily written for me:

Meet MathsDoctor

Greetings, I’m MathsDoctor, holding a degree in physics and 18 years of experience as a tutor and teacher of maths, applied maths, and physics. I’ve helped thousands of students with these subjects in Dublin and nationwide, from primary to university level, in both individual and group sessions. My A1 (equivalent to today’s H1) in Leaving Cert maths gives me insight into achieving top results.

Maths has fascinated me since childhood—figuring out fractions at 6 or 7 sparked my curiosity about its real-world uses. Early mastery helps, but maths can be conquered at any stage with dedication.

Though maths can be daunting, each student has their own strengths. With focused grinds and some hard work, they can tackle weaknesses and gain confidence. I create a lively, positive classroom vibe to make learning maths easier and more fun.

FAQ

It varies, but typically is no more than 7 or 8.

Not usually, but I do normally leave questions on the whiteboard that would be useful for the students to try before the next class.

Students in the group classes benefit from hearing questions from other students and my responses. Also, as the students are likely all doing different topics in school, the maths topic I cover with them at any given time is unlikely to be the one that everyone is doing currently but it serves as good revision for them, or a good preview to what they’ll be covering in due course. Also the group classes are cheaper!

As early as possible. The more classes you attend prior to your exam, you increase your chances of doing well in your exam. So even if there’s not a lot of time left until your exam, it’s better late than never.

Certainly. I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to cover it immediately, but I make sure all the important material is covered prior to the exams.

Usually weekly. As the exams draw very close, say within a month, I sometimes increase the frequency, but normally it’s once a week.
